There is nothing better than partying during the winter months. When friends surround you, you easily tend to forget the cold weather outside. A winter party can be made as boisterous and convivial as any other summer party. Partying in a freezing climate is an altogether different experience especially if it is a night party. If you are planning to celebrate a big occasion in January or February the following ideas might be useful and come in handy.

  1. The major concern for winter celebration is the food. Shedding weight in winters is very difficult, therefore, serving oily, fried or junk food is not recommended. You can try something innovative and serve the guest with low calorie food such as over baked boneless chicken breast strips marinated in sauce, baked chips, salsa, diced tomatoes served with nachos, soups, etc. For desserts you can serve low fat ice creams topped with crushed toasted nuts. You can also serve cherries and strawberries drizzled in vanilla or chocolate sauce. Creative, innovative and healthy food items are going to be loved and relished by all.
  2. Decorate the party area with Christmas lights and other Christmas accessories. As far as possible use chiffon and gossamer material to decorate the area. These materials give a winter feeling. Lighting should not be too bright as the winter celebration is awesome under dull lighting. According to the occasion the rest of the decoration can be finalized. Remember to use scented candles in any winter party because the scented candles create a great mood and are refreshing to the guest.
  3. A bonfire makes the party attractive, delightful and dandy. It will not only keep the guest warm, but is also a great way to keep them engaged in the party. Shivering and uninterested guests work as spoilers to the celebration. You can even arrange for a music system and the guest can sit around the bonfire. It is a superb way to spend the night in delight. The idea of a bonfire is surely going to be admired and will make the party first-class.  Inexpensive fire pits can be purchased at any of the popular large retailers.
  4. Snowball football is an enjoyable and very famous winter game played in many parties. For the game you need to make footballs using crumbled paper and wrapping them in colorful sheets. The next step is setting two goal posts. You can use a cardboard box for the same and divide the guests in teams of two. The players in each team have to score a goal by pushing it with their hands. The game is simple yet entertaining.
  5. If you own a hot tub or a Jacuzzi you can use it for the party, but for this you have to inform the guests in advance so that they come well-prepared. Hot tub parties in winter are the ultimate way to fight the cold. And, when aromatherapy is mixed with it, the guests feel enlightened.   Add a patio heater for your guest comfort and hot coffee or hot chocolate.

A winter party can be as enjoyable as any summer party. So, go ahead and plan your winter gathering.
