An unexpected promotion or success in a competitive exam definitely calls for a party. Hosting such parties on the special day when the results are announced is of utmost importance otherwise the excitement of passing the exam or getting promoted is reduced. Hosting a last minute party can be a tedious task especially when you do not have a helping hand. Some tips that can help you host a last minute party successfully include.

Supermarket to your rescue
Hit the supermarket and buy ready to cook meals and food items. Even frozen food can come to your rescue.  You can even buy ready made mock-tail drinks instead of making them at home. Target the food items and drinks that consume the least possible time. In most of the ready to cook meals you just have to cook the contents for less than 5 minutes and delicious mouth-watering food is ready without any efforts. If the majority of the gathering consists of adults consider buying wine and beer bottles.

Hit the ice-cream parlor
When celebrating success, desserts are a must. And, in such a short duration the dessert that is simple yet elegant and delicious is ice-creams. Buy variety of flavors to add color and taste to the party. If time permits you can even make your own delicious sundae by mixing one scoop of strawberry, mango and chocolate ice-cream in a bowl and garnishing it with chocolate sauce. This dessert has a preparation time of less than 5 minutes.

Clean the party area
A messy and untidy house is surely not the correct place to host a party. To some this may seem to be a little excessive but changing the dirty tablecloth and arrange the sofa cushions properly goes a long way in making a good impression. Also, make sure that the bathroom is clean and it has enough toilet paper to prevent from any embarrassing situations. If the party is going to be hosted in the night make sure that all the light bulbs, are working properly. If it is chilly out and you expect your party may spread to the outdoors you can rent a patio heater to keep your guest warm while they are outside. Keeping track of small things is the key to successfully hosting a last minute party.

Enough seating capacity
In the party tension most people forget to arrange for chairs according to the number of guests they have invited which leads to an embarrassing situation. If you have invited 10 guest makes sure you have a seating capacity for at least 20 people because chances are there that your guest might turn up with their families. You need to be prepared too face such circumstances.

The success of a last minute party lies in simplicity. If you try to organize a theme based party or plan to hire professional caterers the party is sure to become a disaster.
