Throwing a Pirate Theme Party

A Pirate Party Theme Party for Him

Girls are mesmerized by the world of fairies and young boys get attracted towards the world of pirates. Parents around the globe actually wait for their toddlers to grow up so that they can organize a pirate birthday bash for their sons.

Throwing a party on this theme can be an adventure in and of it self as you research and prepare for the event. You familiarize yourself with the world of the swash-buckling buccaneer’s of the Caribbean, with visions of Captain Kidd and Edward Teach AKA Black Beard roaming about the high seas in search of treasures.  Only when you can relate to a pirate’s life, can you throw and organize a memorable party.

Incorporating the theme right from the beginning when sending out invitations. You can buy small plastic bottles and roll a paper inviting the guests and place it in the bottle. This is a perfect way to call the other pirates to join the celebration. You can also tear a paper around the edges in a haphazard manner, and then write the invitation on it.  Crumbling it and wrap it around a soft substance and hand it over to all the guests. You can even use a crossed bone or pirate ship design to invite the guest. These invitations can be made at home and do not require much effort. Unleash your imagination and come up with some more innovative and unique invitation cards.

Decorating the party area and recreating the magic of a pirate’s life is the next task. Take red or yellow color plain flags, and make a skull and cross bone on it, then place in it on the center table indicating the land of the notorious pirates. Purchase some affordable fishing nets and shells and place them around the party area or room. The room should look dingy and smell like a cave, only then you will be able to depict the true habitat of a pirate. If you have an old chest lock it with the biggest size lock, make a danger sign on the chest and keep it in some corner of the room. Use old, but clean sheets as table coverings.

Remember that a pirate doesn't enjoy the luxury of a city life so all the decorations have to be done keeping that aspect in mind. Use black color streamers and balloons to further enhance the gathering.

To entertain and keep the guests engaged arrange for a sword fight. Buy inexpensive plastic swords from the local party store and hold a competition. Hunting for lost treasure by finding a hidden map is another entertaining game. Award the winners of the games with pirate hats or swords.

If possible serve food in shell shaped plates. Chocolate coins wrapped in golden color foil are one of the best pirate party treats. You can choose the menu depending on the age and likes of the gathering.

A pirate party can turn out to be a huge success if planned in a proper manner.
