The golden and the glorious era of 70’s will always be remembered for big rock bands and disco fever. Hollywood in the seventies was ruled by disco, bell-bottom’s, big looped earnings and bracelets were all the rave then. Hosting a seventies party for you teenager can be an exciting experience especially if you where a teenager during the 70’s.  You will have the opportunity to recreate the era in which you came of age. This theme can be just as much fun for the host as it is for the guest of honor.  It can be one of the best possible ways to tell your kids about the fashion trends you followed as a teenager.



1. One of the greatest themes from the seventies is Disco
Discos saw its advent in the seventies and it went viral among the youths of that era. You can organize a disco theme party for your child. You can make it a costume theme party wherein the guests will have to wear clothes that were worn in the seventies. It will be an amusing experience wearing bell-bottom pants and bell-sleeved blouses. A disco theme is always a great and fun experience.

2. Decorating
Dark, bold and shiny colors were on a roll in the 70's. Therefore, setting up the party area especially the dance floor with vivid colors is important. Hang disco balls above the dance floors. Cut out poster of the famous Hollywood movies and stars of that era and paste them on the curtains and the walls. Movies can include the Star Wars, the Godfather and Saturday Night Fever the Hollywood stars can include Diane Keaton, Al Pacino, Sylvester Stallone, John Travolta etc. Don’t forget to dim the lights.

3. Entertainment
One of the things that came out of the seventies was the party disc jockey or DJ’s as they are called today.  Hiring a DJ for entertainment and have a play list of music from the seventies would really set the mood.  Hanging some old vinyl records around the dance area and DJ would really ad that special touch.

4. Food
Fast foods really took off in the 70's so hamburgers and hot dogs are a must be on your menu card. Finger foods such as salsa and corn chips, tacos, smoked sausages, lemonade, Hawaiian fruit punch, cheesecake, etc. were some delicious food that were a big hit in the 70's. Keep the shape of the cake simple and try either a chocolate or a strawberry cake because these two flavors were high on demand during that time.

Play the famous disco music from the 70's and enjoy the party with the teenagers. Reenact the golden memories of your childhood or just have fun putting it all together.  Some of the most popular music from the seventies disco were the Bee Gees, Donna Summer,  Berry White, and the Sal-Soul Orchestra.
