How to Throw a Surprise Party
Hosting a surprise party
Hosting a surprise party for a loved one is an extremely exciting and funky affair. Though hosting such a party can be tiresome and stressful, the surprised face on your special guest of honor will make you feel it was all worth the effort. Hosting a surprise party requires detail and precise planning without the guest of honor having the slightest idea about your plans. Follow these tips to successfully organize a surprise party.
1. Select an unexpected date
Hosting a surprise bash for your spouse on his/her birthday is not going to work because they will be expecting something on their special day. Instead, think of a craziest excuse to surprise him/her. The date can be the first time you met, first time you kissed or the first time you hugged each other (Of course you should remember these dates!). Think outside the box and select the most unexpected date.
2. Avoid telling the kids
Your kids or your neighbor’s kids can easily spill the beans. The best way to avoid this situation is by not telling any of the kids about the secret event.
3. Plan beforehand
Send out invitations at least one week before the party date and don’t forget to mention in the invitation card that it is a surprise party so someone doesn't accidentally reveal it to the guest of honor. Take special care not to leave any clues behind to make the guest of honor suspect your intentions. You can avoid confrontation with the guest of honor by making all the party arrangements when they are not at home. In front of him/her never speak in a whisper to your friends and relatives as they may get a hint of your plan.
4. Send your spouse on some errand on the party day
You cannot decorate the party area in his/her presence. So, send them to the market on pretext of buying grocery items or ask them to go for a walk. Don’t pester your spouse too much as they can get irritated.
5. Parking can spill the beans
Ensure that the guests who come to party do not park their car in front of your house or the party area. This can easily let your secret out. Request the guests to park their cars at a distance not visible from the location of the celebration.
6. Decorations and food
Decorate the area with the favorite things of the guest of honor. Hang memorable photos from the wall, make a collage of the memories you cherish, deck the place in your spouse’s favorite color. Arrange for a shower of rose petal when he/she enters the party area. The gleam and satisfaction in their eyes will make you feel relaxed and ecstatic. Needless to say, but the food should be of their choice. If you are male and do not know how to cook, go for cooking classes at least two weeks before without telling your wife and surprise her with a dish you have especially cooked for her.
Add any surprise element, which you think will make your spouse or the guest of honor happy and beam with joy.
